When you get killed, your soul doesn't just vanish into the void - oh no, it respawns in a hospital, because apparently even in death, you're too broke to skip the waiting room. The hospital you end up in depends on where you got snuffed out on the map - so if you're a reckless fool, you might wake up in the County General or the Las Venturas Hospital... Where the staff is probably more interested in blackjack than healing you...

Every time you die, prepare to fork over a "treatment fee" — because apparently in San Andreas, hospitals operate like shady pawn shops. It's $1,000 per level. So, if you're level 15, get ready to hand over $15,000 for the privilege of not being dead. But don't worry, if you're broke, the hospitals are so benevolent they won't take your money — because apparently, the hospitals in San Andreas are just that generous and don't mind losing money on the poor. Or maybe they're just too lazy to bother chasing it (... they are).

Medicines

In each hospital, you can buy healing items - but remember, it’s based on how much HP you want to heal.

Country hospitals are so broke they only sell bandages and mini first aid kits - probably because they're too busy counting chickens instead of patients.

San Fierro's Medical Center offers an experimental drug called BetaHealPill - which heals you 90 HP but has a 10% chance of killing you. Basically, it's like Russian roulette with your health. The small print says, "Warning: May cause death, but at least you'll look rich dying!"
